OOTD: New Balance

What's better than a weekend wander?

Answer: nothing.

For me it's a chance to clear my head, find some interesting walls to lean against and hope that blogging inspiration strikes.

I love doing the blogging. I love reading all of the blogs. Although recently something has been bugging me..

And it's after reading posts like this from Claire over on Jazzpad that it appears to be bugging a few others too.

"I want this blog to be more of what makes me happy," said Claire and I couldn't agree more.

Yes, I'm a jewellery hoarder.. But why am I worrying that I haven't picked up any new pieces for a while?

Yes, I'm a fashion fan.. But I'm panic buying so much on ASOS I'm on first name terms with the delivery man.

Somewhere along the line my priorities seem to have become skewed. These photos have been sitting on my computer for a while because... Well, I just didn't have anything to say about them.

Helen wears clothes. So what?

Did you know that I'm a massive local music enthusiast? Or that I'm attending a red carpet film premier this month? Did you know I have four pairs of cowboy boots?

Probably not..

So after a weekend wandering in my New Balance trainers I'm contemplating a new balance on the blog (see what I did there?!). Helen will still wear clothes (and jewellery. Obviously) but there'll now be added stuff to go with it.

Let's do more stuff.. Are you with me?

  1. There's only one thing for it ... Lifestyle blogging :) Obviously I'm biased but I think it's the best kind :)

  3. I couldn't agree with you more! I got really bored with blogging about 6 months ago, because all I was doing was writing reviews on beauty products over and over again, while yes I do love makeup and whatnot, but that's just one tiny part of who I am, so I started incorporating films and books and things about my life into my blog, and I'm back to really enjoying blogging again!

I'm looking forward to seeing your new content! :)

  5. I completely agree with you. I find it difficult to blog about what I enjoy rather than thinking what would my readers enjoy. However, I think I will soon find a balance! I love your New Balance too! I really want a pair but they are just so expensive. Hoping my student discount will come in handy x

  8. I know what you mean. My life is pretty much baby, baby, baby at the moment so I don't have the same posts I did in the past. Although, the asos delivery woman is on first name terms with my cat!

  12. I totally agree about the panic-buying ASOS comment. I worry that I don't as much new stuff as other bloggers, is my outfit super on-trend, should I have the latest it thing etc etc. But at the moment I just really can't afford to buy new stuff so I just try to tell myself it's silly to worry about it and that sometimes the oldies are the goodies- plus classics never go out of style! I look forward to reading your new posts.
