Document the every day.. #05

I already know what you're thinking. This is NOT what a typical fashion blogger wardrobe looks like..

Empty.

Would you believe me if I told you it's actually a good thing?

One of my favourite blogs to read EVER is The Private Life of a Girl and I have been pretty much obsessed by the Minimal Wardrobe series.

You read right. Minimal. Wardrobe.

As I mentioned in my last blog post I'm finding it particularly boring being constantly told what I should be buying. Instead Sophie's blog is encouraging her readers to quit spending money on bad quality clothes and start wearing what you have.

So after three years of hoarding I've cleared out the wardrobe and ready to start again. Although there's been a couple of weeks of floor-drobe action during the process.

The best thing? I've discovered a whole load of clothes I'd almost forgotten about, as well as a lot of collared-shirt-appreciation I was totally unaware of.

Weirdly I feel better with less STUFF.. Even weirder? I've already got two outfit posts I can't wait to share.

Let the big wardrobe clear out continue...

  3. First: I totally LOL'd @ "floordrobe". haha I love that you posted this to a link to Sophie as I will definitely check out her series. I've also been meaning to downsize my wardrobe and not buy poor quality clothes anymore and instead save up for items that are good quality and will last me longer than 6 months! xx

  6. I need to do this so badly! I feel that no matter how much I clear my wardrobe, it'll still be cluttered.

  9. Love this post. I have never (and will never) buy things just to be in fashion or because it's the 'latest trend' Over the years I have gathered some amount of.. ahem, junk. I just wish I couldn't get rid of it all and start over. I'd love a few key pieces that I would never fall out of love with and could mix n' match.
