Pierrelecat: Two years on..

For the second year in a row, on the 31st of December it isn't just the year ahead I'm thinking of but the year that's just been. If you didn't know, the last day of the year is also the anniversary of Pierrelecat's first ever post.

(It also reminds me how impatient I was to get my new years resolutions underway before midnight even struck..)

When I started blogging in 2011 I couldn't imagine keeping it up for two months never mind two years, but what a year 2013 was! Here a few of my blog (and life in general) highlights..

1. In June I had my Eureka moment.. I decided to blog about what I'm most passionate about: JEWELLERY. And I've never looked back..
2 + 3. Through that I've discovered some AMAZING jewellery brands. My favourites include Sacrum, BURJU and The Rogue + The Wolf.
4 + 5. I was over the moon when I was asked to write a piece for the first issue of the incredible Alice magazine. (Look out for it if you live in Newcastle) After that I guest blogged on Lunacy of Ink and then decided to enter a blogging competition where I managed to get a couple of my articles in the paper too.. This unbelievably led to me getting my dream job. When I think about it, the opportunities I've had through starting this blog are mind blowing.
6. Something I'd never thought I'd be doing this time last year: Trying a bit of nail art!
7 + 8 + 9. Among the many highlights of 2013 traveling has to be at the top. There was Berlin for my birthday, one unforgettable (and slightly belated) Californian honeymoon and then welcoming in 2014 by learning to surf in Fuerteventura. Just woah.

So what's next?

Well, there'll be plenty going on this year seeing as it's my final year at uni. Hopefully I'll get myself organised and schedule some quality blog time around my dissertation writing. I'd love to get to some more events (London Fashion Week anyone?) and try and get out of my comfort zone too (Yes, I'm talking about vlogging!?). Apart from that I want to find more unique jewellery, improve my photography and (fingers crossed) make it to that all important third blog birthday.

What are your 2014 blog goals?
